We produced two music visualisers for artist Jasmine Jethwa's latest releases in collaboration with renowned production company Somesuch & Co. Shot on 16mm film over two nights on location in Devon, the project demanded technical precision, creative problem-solving, and efficient production management with a lean crew of four.
The Brief
Create two distinctive visualisers for Jasmine Jethwa's music releases that showcased artistic ambition whilst working within the constraints of a lean production. The client wanted the authenticity and texture of 16mm film, requiring careful planning and execution to maximise the limited shooting ratio.
The Challenge
Balancing creative ambition with practical constraints: shooting on 16mm film (with its inherent cost and limited takes), executing physically demanding camera setups with a crew of just four, and managing a two-night schedule in a remote Devon location. Every setup needed to be meticulously planned to maximise the film stock and crew efficiency.
Scope
Producer: Led all production logistics from pre-production through delivery, managing budget, crew, equipment, and location coordination.
Location Production: Coordinated two-night shoot in Devon, managing all logistical elements for remote location filming.
Production Management: Partnered with director Ned Botwood and DoP Bethany Fitter to execute technically demanding setups on a tight timeline.
