600 potatoes were grown collectively by the Frome community. They became a fantastic potato salad, paired with lamb, falafel, and flatbread, a meal rooted in a collective of creatives and collaborative driven folk.
We picked blackberries from nearby hedgerows. We dug potatoes from local plots. We watched puddings take shape in the kitchen. And then, in Vicky Park, a long line of up to 200 people gathered: neighbours, friends, strangers.
A patchwork of local growers, chefs, bakers, food journalists, green fingers, business initiatives, and a whole lotta potatoes.
From soil to plate, everything that makes Canteen happen begins with community.
