I decided at the end of last year to cap how many passion projects I would take on in 2026.
As an admittedly over-giver, being boundaried is a work in progress. It also meant not taking on more than I could chew, that I can give focused time, little and often over the year.
Before 2025 was even out, I already had 2 of 3 of these projects under my belt:
I became a CIC Director with two other women, one a visitor experience officer and the other a prop designer in film and also, the head of pastry at our local bakery. Our focus is to create experiential led events. To make learning - playful, art - tactile, history - fun.
I took on being a content manager for Moll Cottage Skye, introducing content creator collaborations and art residencies to their portfolio, along with driving forward photography, based around escapism and simple delights of being in the mountains. Driving reels, reaching 15K on one of our firsts on TikTok.
And then in 2026, I had a call from a friend who I’d met when we both worked at the Tobacco Factory bar and cafe, asking me to produce a script that he’d written. How far we’d both come from days of pulling pints.
All three of these projects are a work in progress but they are ones I am putting my heart and soul into.
Whoever said to get a niche and stay in it, I say, how boring. These are the things that bring a fire in my belly and light up my love for learning, experimenting and changing course where needed.
